What are Assistants?

Assistants are tools that enable you to create shareable AI models, which generate responses based on the knowledge files you provide.

Assistants are tools specifically designed to handle unstructured data and text-based inputs. While Assistants excel at processing such information, there are some important limitations when working with tabular data (e.g., Excel or CSV files).

How do Assistants use our knowledge files?

Assistants uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), a technique that allows Assistants to go through the files you uploaded when you created your Assistants and find the relevant information to enhance text-based responses.

Which file formats do Assistants support?

What tool should I use to analyze tabular or structured data?

Use the GPT-4.1 model to analyze tabular or structured data such as Excel, csv, and xml files.

How many files can I upload to the Knowledge Base?

Supported formats are: c, cs, cpp, css, doc, docx, html, java, js, json, md, pdf, php, pptx, py, rb, sh, tex, ts, txt

You may upload up to 10 files at once. Maximum number of files per Assistant is 100 files. Upload is limited to 20MB per file.

What is the character limit of the size of the instructions for an Assistant?

The instructions field can contain up to 3,000 characters.

Are Assistants learning from my prompts and files being uploaded?

No, like PhoenixAI, Assistants are not learning from your prompts, uploaded files, or any of your data.

Can I delete a shared Assistant?

Yes, you can delete Assistants you created and ones shared with you. If share an assistant you created to another user, you will remove their access to the Assistant. If you delete an assistant with you, you only remove your access from the Shared Assistant. To gain access again, reuse the link sent to you for the shared Assistant or ask the creator to send it to you. 

I tried to open a shared Assistant but only the main PhoenixAI tool popped up?

Typically, when this happens you have to click on the shared Assistant link again to open the shared Assistant. This usually happens when you're not logged into PhoenixAI already or are using an Incognito tab.

What does Access Denied mean when trying to access an Assistant?

Access denied means that the creator of the shared Assistant has updated the sharing permissions and unshared the Assistant. As a result, you are no longer to use the Assistant that was shared with you.

How can I delete an Assistant I created?

Follow the instructions in the Assistants: Create, Edit, Share, Delete an Assistant article for deleting an Assistant.

Can Assistants be removed temporarily?

Assistants (created by you or shared with you) can be hidden or unhidden to manage which ones are visible. You can do this through the sidebar menu, where you have the option to hide or unhide Assistants.

What does Assistant Deleted Successfully mean?

You have successfully deleted the Assistant that you created. A deleted Assistant cannot be restored, and is permanently removed from the Assistants section.

How do I get back to the main screen after I create an Assistant?

After you create an Assistant you are taken to a list of your custom Assistants. Two ways to return to the main screen: the Back Button located below the list of Assistants you've created, or the PhoenixAI Logo in the upper left corner.
