Wireless IoT Self Registration

The University of Chicago has a faculty, student, staff, and research population with diverse computing requirements. Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) technology is everywhere. Wireless IoT devices are Internet-enabled devices without a keyboard. Gaming consoles, robot vacuums, doorbell security cameras, and other Internet-enabled wireless household appliances are common examples.

IoT Self-Registration makes it easier and safer to securely connect wireless IoT devices on campus and at remote UChicago locations.

If you have a business need for a DHCP reservation for your wireless IoT device, please submit a separate DHCP Reservation Request to the NetEng team. If approved, they will reserve an IP address and register the device for you.
