Self Service
Self service is an application provided by JAMF that allows users to access available resources and tools to them such as applications, printers, links, and other necessary items. The Self Service app gives clients the flexibility of choosing what to install and when to install it. For admins, it also provides the means to only allow certain users access to specific items.
Authorized Admins in your current IT department.
Reliability: Managed devices will quickly receive software updates and patches with little to no user interaction.
Time Efficiency: Admins will stay more productive as deployment and updating processes run in the background, freeing up more time for other projects.
Flexibility: Admins can choose when and where to install new software or run maintenance on managed devices through Software Center / Self Service portals.
Security: Admins can manage the security of managed machines so they do not have to be manually maintained. Software patches, antivirus protection, and firewalls can be well maintained from each admin console.
Compliance: Managed devices can be in compliance with UChicago rules and regulations.
